Fit Fare

I loved the Corazonas Salsa Picante Tortilla Chips when I tried them. So when I received a second package from Well Fed owner Cate O’Malley, I was psyched to see that they were Jalapeno Jack flavored. I love hot and spicy things so I figured if these were anywhere close to the high standard that the Salsa Picante flavor had set then I would be in for a sure-fire treat.

Boy, was I wrong.

The flavor on these chips is subtle at best. And though the texture was basically the same as the Salsa Picante ones, it turn out that it is the flavor that makes the chips. There was a point where I wondered if I had somehow grabbed a piece of cardboard instead of a chip. Yep. Stopped eating then.

Truth be told, the Jalapeno Jack flavor isn’t bad despite being anything but hot. It’s just too light. It needs to be more bold, like the name suggests. These are okay if you only want to eat a few and stop.
