Tips To Avoid Holiday Weight Gain: Tip #1

The holidays are upon us, and that means the Seasonal Seven are waiting for most of us. What are the Seasonal Seven? That’s the average amount of weight gained during the period between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. Unfortunately, many of us are unable to lose those pounds easily. With that in mind, over the next ten weeks I will offer a tip each Friday to help avoid gaining those pounds. Some will be familiar to most people, but it’s not a bad idea to be reminded of the obvious if it can help us.

Tip #1: Increase your daily activity level.

This seems obvious, but we often feel we’re too busy to exercise. Going to a gym is fine, if you belong to one. But, taking a brisk walk for 30 minutes can be beneficial too, if you don’t. The more you get up and move, the more you burn (which can help make up for all those extra calories).
