During the holidays when we’re exposed to so many treats managing portion control is critical during our regular meals. Eating moderate amounts is a good goal for holidays, and the rest of the year.

Tip # 4: Beware Of Second Servings At Meals

One technique that has helped my family is banning any food at the table other than the portions on our plate. We don’t have bread or bowls of food on the table that could tempt us into taking second helpings. I immediately put any leftovers in the fridge, so that we aren’t tempted to get a second serving. Out of sight, out of mind does work in this case.
