Basic French Toast 101

For all those busy moms and dads out there trying to get a fresh meal ready for breakfast, this course is for you. Sometimes all it takes to make a hot meal is a mixing some ordinary ingredients to get something just delicious!

I will admit that my husband taught me how to make this. It’s so simple, but can be so versatile if you put your mind to work.

The Ingredients

Go to your refrigerator and pull out your milk, eggs, sugar, and butter. Place these on your counter.

The Steps

1. In a bowl crack one egg and thoroughly whisk it.

2. Pour in about 4 tablespoons of whole milk to the blended egg. Add two tablespoons of sugar as well then blend well.

3. In a pan, add a dollop of butter and turn the stove on low to medium heat.

4. Add a slice of bread into the egg, milk and sugar mixture and be sure both sides get dipped.

5. Carefully move the dipped bread onto the prepared pan. Cook, flipping intermittently until both sides are a golden brown color.

The Final Product

Once the bread has been cooked, move it onto a plate and serve. Some ways to serve include adding a side of fresh fruits, drizzling the top with maple syrup, spreading a little more butter, or even with a dollop of whipped cream. It can also be a delicious dessert, with chocolate topping, ice cream and fruits.
