I wish I could answer how to get these strainers, but I was lucky and happen to find them at a dollar tree type store. Cheese cloths are an alternative that definitely works even if it is a bit more messy.

Thank you for your comments. I'm glad to hear that the recipes and the article have inspired you.

In answer to many requests about that particular yogurt strainer pictured, I have a box of two in my kitchen and just recently rediscovered them. These were distributed by NorPro of Everett, WA. Just now I looked on the web to see about getting them again and they're nowhere to be found. NorPro is still there but they don't sell these strainers.

I'm so glad I found this post. I've been looking different recipes and uses for yogurt cheese. I like to spread it on crackers, use as a dip and spread on sandwiches. Thanks for the recipe!

Please tell how to get a yogurt strainer like the one in the picture. I have had one for years, but it's getting worn out. I can't find another.

I was so happy to find your posting, I have been using yogurt cheese for about a year now as an attempt to lower my fat intake. I like to use mine on bagles and in tuna/ chicken salad.

Enjoyed your posting - have been looking for a white replacement strainer as pictured in your posting. What is the brand? Or where can I find it?

Thanks for the ideas. I love avocado sandwiches. I decided to replace the mayonaise with non-fat yogurt cheese and it was fabulous. (I make an avocado spread by mashing avocados with yogurt cheese, salt and pepper to taste.) I liked it as much or more than the mayo version.
