Kashi for Lunch and Dinner?

kashi.jpgDid you know that the folks at Kashi now have an all-natural frozen entree line?  Good.  I didn’t either.  Branching out past their popular and well-known cereal, they created the line with busy families in mind.  They currently have six different options, and they are low in calories (240 to 380) and pretty high in fiber.  At a bargain $4 a piece, it’s at least something that Moms can feel good about serving their kids … assuming that a home-cooked dinner is not an option.

From Kashi themselves, “Our Kashi All Natural Entrees combine natural, wholesome ingredients — things like whole grains, colorful vegetables and natural chicken and shrimp — and we take great care in roasting, grilling and seasoning these ingredients to let their real flavors come through. And of course, our all natural entrees are also packed with real nutrition, such as fiber and protein to provide true sustenance to keep you satisfied.”

I had a chance to sample a few of the varieties, and I gotta say, they aren’t half bad.  This was actually the first time I had had whole grain pasta, and I’ll definitely be back for more.  Of course, nothing replaces a home-cooked meal, but if you’re on the go and want a little less guilt than driving through the local McDonalds, this just might do the trick.

If you’re game, you can grab a coupon for them right here.

Hmm. Maybe we’re a test market or just lucky, but I’ve seen these in the local high-end supermarket (central New Jersey, USA).
