I have been introduced to Thacker Farm this year, 2008, and since then I don't buy strawberries any where else. Every time there's a party or get together, I made sure I'd bring a half flat of their berries; and 10 out of 10 times I got compliments and people would want info. about Thacker Farm. I usually go to the stand on Katella & Siboney in Anaheim, or Walker & Cerritos in Cypress. I have been to the one on Warner and Newland also. I always remembered to ask for the punch card so that I can get a freebie after so many times. Thank you Thacker farm (in California)!! Your berries are the best!

The guy at the Thacker stand was pretty rude to me this morning. Apparently, they don't open until 9, but there wasn't any way for me to know that (no sign, etc.). I parked and got of my car. He was standing there with strawberries laid out in front of him. I approached and said, "Good morning! I'll take one of these flats," to which he barked, "NOT YET. 20 minutes!" That was all. No, "I'm sorry" or "I'm not set up yet" or "We don't open for 20 minutes; I apologize." Just a short, gruff bark.

I don't usually complain about someone's rudeness, but it really turned me off. I've never tried their strawberries. They look delicious, but I'm hesitant to go back. It seems weird that I was standing there--cash in hand--and he turned a sale away. But I would have been fine with it if he had been at least polite about it.

Oh well. I got some strawberries at Trader Joe's. They don't look as good though.

Sorry, Deanna. I don't know. Since I'm in San Diego now, I can't stop by Thacker Berry stands anymore. They don't have a website with locations listed, but they do have fliers at their stands if you ever come across one. Good luck--they are the best!

Does anyone know if they have a south county location right now?? The paper said El Toro and Bridger, but I can't locate the stand...my kids keep asking for the world's best strawberries, and me too!

Type your comment here.
There are know better berries around than the ones from Thacker Berry Farms. I don't bother buying any others as they are just a big disappointment. I live in Mission Viejo and I drove to the stand in Hunington Beach at Warner/Newland St. I don't see the stand that's usually on El Toro Rd./Raymond. I loved it when the stand was in the corner of Claim Jumper parking lot near Santa Margarita/Marguerite. One mile from my house. So convenient.

Thanks.

[...] I posted this Arugula, Strawberry, and Sugar Snap Pea Salad on Fit Fare back in June and had to post it here because it’s just too scrumptious not to share. I love the interplay between the sweet strawberries and peppery arugula which are complemented with a zippy, lemon-balsamic dressing. The fresh basil and mint really make this salad shine, so make sure you don’t skimp! [...]
