Sarah Caron (Editor) - Bio
Most people can’t say what they would be doing as an occupation when they were 4 or 5 or even 15. But I am not most people. I don’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be a writer. And although a number of people attempted to talk me out of pursuing writing as a career for a more traditional route, I was unwavering in saying that one way or another I would be a writer.
I am a journalist, whose work has appeared in a variety of publications including the New York Times, Boston.com and the New Haven Register. In November 2005, I combined my writing career with my food obsession, creating a food blog, Cucina Bella. These days, my writing operates between two worlds: hard news reporting and foodisms. It’s a great place to be.
Patricia DiGiacomo Eddy - Bio
Patricia DiGiacomo Eddy is a writer from Seattle who loves to cook. Her husband, and the love of her life, is diabetic. She is passionate about cooking with the freshest local and organic ingredients. She conveys this passion on her blog, www.cooklocal.com. She also love to crochet, run, lift weights, read, and spend time enjoying Seattle’s beautiful weather (according to Patricia: “No, I’m not joking, we really do have beautiful weather.”).
Alisa Fleming - Bio
Alisa is the founder and editor of the informational website, Go Dairy Free, and author of the guidebook, “Dairy Free Made Easy.” Her mission to make special diets and healthy eating enjoyable prompts hours of recipe experiments, product trials, and restaurant hopping each week.
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Alisa traded in her webfeet for sunny (high) desert living several years ago. Though she misses the fresh produce from local farms, visits to the Northwest quickly remind her that she doesn’t miss the rain. Aside from food, her favorite pastimes include women’s soccer, international travel, quality time with her cat Rosie, and very long walks with her husband.
Kathy Hester - Bio
I live in Durham NC with my partner, 2 cats and a big silly dog. I am a full time web developer who loves to cook, eat, garden, knit and hopes for more hours in the day to pack it all in. I have an abundance of amazing fresh heirloom produce to experiment with between shopping at the Durham Farmers Market and expanding my veggie garden.
I love to try odd recipes and vegetables that I have never seen before, and invite unsuspecting friends over to try it with me. Being passionate about composting, recycling, and always looking for new ways to save money and be greener at the same time seems to have become my new part time job.
I currently write for my own blog: Geek, Poet, Housewife Wannabe, and blog for chowSpice, YeahTips, and for the Well Fed Network on Growers and Grocers and FitFare.
Cate O’Malley - Bio
For as long as I can remember, I have loved writing and yearned to be a freelance journalist when I grew up. When I moved out on my own for the first time, I discovered a second passion … cooking. Now, many years later, I still have a love for both and started my site, Sweetnicks, in an effort to combine them. I have a slight, ahem, obsession with cookbooks, food/cooking magazines, and, well, anything related to food. Joining the food blogging community, it’s great to be among others who get the obsession. My site’s name comes from my 5 year-old son, Nicholas, who loves to help me in the kitchen almost as much as he loves Dora, Spiderman and his girlfriend.
